The Kidco Safeway is a "No Trip" gate that is hardware mounted to the wall and or posts. It has a quick release mechanism that makes it easy for an adult to detach the gate when full access between the rooms is needed. It is one-hand operated and can swing both ways when installed in a hallway or doorway. When installed at the top of the stairs, it has a directional stop that prevents the gate from swinging out over stairs
